Sunday was our 1st Superhero … YOU!

Sunday was our 1st Superhero … YOU! Art class.
I, Mrs. Kim,  the Art Link teacher asked my young art students,  “What are your Superpowers?” Various answers were given, “I’m kind!” “Gymnastics!” “I care for dogs.” Etc. I said mine was that …  “I inspire Creativity!”

After the discussion,  we designed T-shirts with Fabric paint markers. I showed them my example. It says, Creative Wonder Woman, Mrs. Kim, Art Link 2019. I merged the colorful Wonder woman emblem with a shield and stars with a pencil drawing  and a paint brush painting, behind the emblem, as shown in picture. I had the students do a small sketch and color it in to work out their ideas, like a rough draft. Then they transferred that image onto their Superhero shirts. They all loved their designs and each shared their individual designs to the rest of the art class. They liked each others ideas and interpretations.  We took some  super excited, Superhero pictures.  Students left with greater Confidence in themselves; and their artistic designs that were wearable!

They said they planned on wearing to school to show teachers and classmates.  So, I think they are off to an excellent start to their school year and they thought so too. I would say, this art class was a huge success!  Shazam!   Pow!
